The secret of a long walk is doing it step after meticulous step. No leaps and bounds, just one step at a time.
That is not easy in a Sputnik world, everything is push-push, and rush-rush. Somehow we are inclined to believe that being busy-bodies means we are effective. Often it's just the opposite. I learnt a while ago that there is a difference between activity and impact. Activity does not necessarily imply impact, and impact doesn't have to be active all the time. Some people move mountains without moving a finger.
That's no call for laziness, but it is a call for relaxation! It's a long walk, so don't stress, some things existed before you got here. Change what you can and leave the rest to God. Remember Reinhold Niebuhr's Serenity Prayer
"God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed
Courage to change things that should be changed
And the wisdom to know the difference"
